Electrical Engineer
Job description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure for oil & gas and power generation facilities. The successful candidate will contribute to field-based projects, engineering documentation, procurement, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, instrumentation, and control systems for industrial sites.
- Prepare engineering drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and bills of materials.
- Support construction teams in site layout, cabling, and equipment installations.
- Conduct site visits to oversee electrical installations, perform QA/QC, and troubleshooting field issues.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and cable sizing.
- Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code, local regulations, and company standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, contractors, and clients.
- Participate in commissioning, startup, and maintenance support of facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of electrical design and field experience in industrial settings (oil & gas or power preferred).
- Proficient with AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or similar software. Strong understanding of CSA and NEC standards.
- Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA. Valid Class 1 Driver's License is a strong asset.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
