Power Engineer
Job description
We are seeking a Power Engineer to safely operate and maintain critical power systems and high/low voltage equipment on our industrial project sites. The ideal candidate has a strong background in operations and troubleshooting of utility or process heating systems, and knowledge of regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, and maintain compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to detect hazards or malfunctions and perform corrective actions.
- Complete daily logbooks and equipment condition reports.
- Support start-up and shutdown procedures of power equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair valves, pumps, control panels, and instruments.
- Ensure compliance with ABSA, OH&S, and environmental guidelines.
- Participate in safety meetings and ensure on-site safety standards are met.
- Assist with emergency repairs and plant outages as needed.
Requirements
- 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate or higher (Alberta).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial or power generation environments. Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems is an asset.
- Physically fit, willing to work in varied field conditions.
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License and experience with picker/crane trucks are preferred.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
