Production and Process Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Production and Process Engineer to optimize oil and gas production operations and facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with field operations, engineering, and construction teams to develop and implement process improvements, reduce operational costs, and ensure safe, reliable facility performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and optimize production processes at oil and gas facilities, including well sites, separators, dehydrators, and compression systems.
  • Monitor daily production data and facility performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and propose operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with field personnel and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting flow, pressure, and output.
  • Conduct root cause analyses of process failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support design and modification of surface production equipment including P&ID development, sizing calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Contribute to the design and commissioning of new facilities or facility expansions.
  • Ensure all process designs and changes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (AER, AEP).
  • Work with automation specialists to implement and improve SCADA, PLC, and control systems.
  • Develop operating procedures, training materials, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in hazard and operability (HAZOP) reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in production and process engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of production systems, process design, and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex engineering and production data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and environmental guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
